The Barenbaums….what is to say about the Barenbaums….seriously. Honestly one of the nicest, most genuine, giving, generous, thoughtful people ever. I was fortunate enough to meet them and photograph Emma’s Bat Mitzvah a few years ago and thankfully I was able to document Sam’s as well. Sam became a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday October 7th at Congregation Rodef Sholom in San Rafael where is grandfather was previously a Rabbi (Rabbi Michael Barenbaum). This Temple holds memories, traditions, and wonderful remberances for this family and many more to come. One of MY favorite traditions of this family is the way they do the center pieces. Michelle is such a thoughtful and generous person that instead of buying flowers for the tables she makes gift baskets to be donated to families and schools in need. This year she made baskets of school supplies and food. What a beautiful way to decorate the room as well as to GIVE to the less fortunate. This is just who the Barenbaums are. Every detail comes from the heart including the home made Challah bread and baked goods. All made with love from this family. I also love how important ‘family’ is to them. They are surrounded with loving friends and family and through the years I feel fortunate to have gotten to know some of them. The warmth is contagious and I am grateful to capture it as well as be a part of it. I also really enjoy to watch the ‘celebration’ of such a special event. The PartAAAy was at none other than Terrapin Crossroads (also a family tradition) and the the dancing and festivities were joyous and celebratory as they should be. Big thank you to Rebeca, Terrapin’s Event Manager for making everything run perfectly and smoothly and to Denon and Doyle for rockin the house!!
